The Telangana State Table Tennis Association is pleased to inform that the International Table Tennis Umpires Examination for 2016 is being held in Hyderabad on April 24, 2016. Hyderabad is the center for all the South Indian States and we have representations from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry, and Telangana. We have 65 candidates who will be taking the examinations as per the ITTF directions. The other centers in India are Kolkata & Indore where examinations will be conducted at the same time all over India.
The International Umpire (IU) exam is designed to ascertain a certain level of knowledge and understanding of the Laws of Table Tennis. It is not an easy exam. The 2016 IU exam is administered in a controlled and supervised environment in Dawn High School, Hyderabad.
To train and prepare the Candidates for the exam, Mr. N Ganeshan, Competition Manager, Table Tennis Federation of India, and an International Referee is conducting two day preparatory classes at Stag Table Tennis Academy. The two day Preparatory classes was inaugurated today by Mr. Prakash Raju, Secretary, Telangana Table Tennis Association. Today’s session covered about the updated International rules and regulations for Table Tennis and followed by mock tests and question & answer session about the ITTF “Officials Code of Conduct”. The classes will conclude tomorrow.Candidates successfully passing the IU exam will receive a certificate as well as a lapel pin. (P.
